Jasprit Bumrah could end up playing his 3rd and final game of the tour in Manchester when India take on England in the fourth Test of the series from July 23 to 27. The former India vice-captain is only scheduled to play 3 Tests in England. He has already played 2 Tests and is only scheduled to play one more Test in the series. India's assistant coach, Ryan ten Doeschate, hinted at Bumrah playing the must-win Test in Manchester.
"We'll make that call in Manchester. We know we've got him for one of the last two Tests. I think it's pretty obvious the series is on the line now in Manchester, so there will be a leaning towards playing him," he said while speaking to media.
Bumrah is close to overtaking legendary Dennis Lillee and can go past him in a huge list in the fourth Test. The right-arm pacer is just 4 wickets from overtaking Lillee in the list of bowlers with the most wickets in international cricket.
Lillee, who played 133 international matches, finished his career with 458 wickets. The Australian legend scalped 355 wickets in Tests and 103 wickets in ODIs.
