National Football League (NFL) star Rashee Rice will serve 30 days in jail after being sentenced for his role in a multi-car crash last year. The Kansas City Chiefs' player was officially sentenced and handed a strict punishment following the incident, which took place in 2024 during the Easter Weekend.
More than a year after the crash that reportedly took place on a highway in Dallas and injured at least seven people, as per a report by ESPN, Rice was handed a punishment by the Dallas County Judge. The Kansas City star was driving a Lamborghini Urus, which saw four cars damanged.
Rice has been sentenced to a probation of five years and 30 days in jail. The jail term can be served at any point in the five-year period.
Who Is Rashee Rice?
Rice is a wide receiver who plays for Kansas and has been part of the four-time Super Bowl Champions since 2023. The Chiefs were the first time that Rice played in his NFL career. The 25-year-old was picked up by the franchise during the 2023 draft.
Rice was part of the Chefs' squad which won their fourth Super Bowl title in 2024 after beating San Francisco by winning the LVIII edition at the Allegiant Stadium in Nevada by a margin of 25-22.
So far, he has played 20 NFL games in two seasons and received 1226 yards with an average of 11.9 per game. In 2023, he set the record for the most post-season receptions (26) by a rookie player.
In his college career, Rice played 10 games as a freshman in 2019 and continued to play at the level till 2022. Overall, he played 44 games at the college level with 2022 proving to be the most productive season where he covered over 1000 years.
