Mohammed Siraj paid an emotional tribute to Diogo Jota at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground on the second day of play in the third Test match between India and England on Friday (July 11) after dismissing home team wicket-keeper batter Jamie Smith.
After taking the wicket of Smith, who played an impactful knock of 51 in 56 balls. Just minutes after the second session started, the Indian pacer forced an edge from the English stumper, with Dhruv Jurel taking a catch behind the stumps.
After getting his wicket, Siraj looked towards the heavens and gestured number 20 with his fingers, which was Jota's jersey number.

Who Was Diogo Jota?
For those unversed, Jota was among the elite footballers in Europe, who played in attack and was a key part of the Portugal National team and had been playing at Liverpool since 2020, having previously played at Wolverhampton and FC Porto.
The 28-year-old tragically lost his life in a car accident in Spain on July 3 alongside his brother Andre. Jota is survived by his wife Rute and three children. Jota and Rute got married each other on June 22.
Footballers from across the world have paid tribute to the late Portugese football star during the ongoing 2025 FIFA Club World Cup with some special celebrations.
His funeral, which took place on July 5 at his hometown of Gondomar near Porto in Portugal, was attended by many of Jota's Liverpool and Portugal teammates.
Mohammed Siraj Takes A 2-Wicket Haul
Talking about Siraj, he went wicketless on Day 1 of the Lord's Test but took two wickets on the second Day as England were bowled out for 387. The star Indian pacer also got the wicket of Brydon Carse, who made 56 runs. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the Indian bowling unit with a five-wicket haul.
Siraj was key to India's 336-run win in the second Test at Edgbaston as he took a six-wicket haul in the first innings.
