Novak Djokovic added a fresh, heartwarming twist to his Wimbledon celebrations, and once again, like last year, it's all about his children.
Djokovic, the seven-time Wimbledon champion, who has been seeded at No. 6 this year, has often captivated audiences not only by his performances but also with his playful post-match rituals. In 2024, Djokovic marked his victories by mimicking playing the violin, a touching nod to his daughter Tara, who had recently begun taking violin lessons.
However, in 2025, the 37-year-old Serbian made a change.
After defeating Alexandre Muller in the first round and Dan Evans in the second, Djokovic celebrated with a lively dance, pumping his arms in different directions while drawing the attention of those seated in the player's box, where his wife Jelena and children Stefan, 10, and Tara, 7, were seated.
The gesture quickly went viral, after which Djokovic explained the story behind the new celebration.
"It's something between me and my children.
"We have a song, it's called 'Pump It Up'.
"I don't know how many of you guys know that.
"It's quite an old song. Good rhythm.
"So yeah, we're pumping. We love pumping.
"We pump after every win. I don't know the artist's name. 'Don't you know, pump it up, you got to pump it up'. Disco song."
The song was released by Belgian artist Danzel in 2004, peaking at No. 11 in the UK charts.
