Rishabh Pant is some player. He is so different from others and plays a game that can change the course of the game in a matter of a few overs, even in Test cricket. Pant has been in terrific form in the series and scored twin centuries in the first Test. With India's lead over 300 in the second Test, Pant had the license to go berserk from ball one, and he exactly did the same, smashing the England bowlers to all corners of the park.
Pant came out all guns blazing and went on a boundary-hitting spree. He was dropped once, and that was more than enough for him to punish England. He raced to 41 in 35 balls, including five fours and two sixes, and put India in complete control of the game at Lunch.

Rishabh Pant Creates History

The second six by Rishabh Pant helped him create a massive record. This was Pant's 23rd six in England, the most by any batter in an away country. He broke Ben Stokes' record, who scored 21 sixes in South Africa. Pant also closed the gap with Ben Stokes in the list of most sixes in the World Test Championship (WTC). Pant currently has 68 sixes to his name, and Ben Stokes tops the charts with 83 sixes.

Most Sixes By A Batter In Away Country

Player Country Sixes
Rishabh Pant England 23*
Ben Stokes South Africa 21
Matthew Hayden India 19
Viv Richard England 16
Harry Brook New Zealand 16

India On Top Despite Double Blow

India lost Karun Nair and KL Rahul in the first session, but they find themselves on top in the second Test. Pant's assault meant that India's lead crossed the 350-run mark. India would be eyeing a target of around 500 to put England under serious pressure. With plenty of batting to follow, the target looks very achievable. If Pant stays at the wicket for long, India could reach the landmark faster than expected.
