India are all set to take on England in the second Test of the five-match series at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham. The visitors are coming on the back of a massive loss by five wickets in the first Test at Leeds, and will be looking to level the series with a victory in the match. However, they are likely to be without Jasprit Bumrah, who is by a mile India's best bowler. The star fast bowler had announced that he will play only three matches in the series owing to workload management issues. In his place, Kuldeep Yadav has been dubbed by many as India's next best wicketkeeper. However, star batter Ajinkya Rahane has a different opinion.

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Ajinkya Rahane said that he would like to see Shardul Thakur in the India playing XI for the second Test because he is the bowler who can get wickets. He also asked India to back Prasidh Krishna if there is bounce and movement on the pitch.

"I would like to see Shardul playing this Test because he is your guy who can get you wickets. If there is good bounce and movement then back Prasidh Krishna. He will be the right guy on a seaming wicket," the former India vice-captain said.

Ajinkya Rahane also stated that he would want to see Arshdeep Singh in place of Jasprit Bumrah. If there is bounce on the pitch , then Prasidh Krishna should continue. Otherwise, in place of him, it should be Kuldeep Yadav.

"I do not see too many changes. I think if Bumrah doesn't play I would like to see Arshdeep Singh playing. If there is bounce and little grass on the wicket, then continue with Prasidh Krishna. If it looks dry and the weather is also hot, then in place of Prasidh Krishna, my choice will be Kuldeep Yadav. And Ravindra Jadeja as two spinners. If Bumrah doesn't play, then Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur," Rahane further said.
