Brilliant Pakistan edged past Maldives by 49-39 goals to storm into the semifinals of the Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship-2025 here at Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium in Jeonju-si, South Korea on Tuesday.
Enjoying a phenomenal unbeaten run in the tournament, Pakistan girls netball team once again displayed highly professional skills and techniques to overcome stiff challenge from Maldives who fought superbly in this Group B clash.
There were standout performances from Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Sumayya Kouser, Haleema, Jasmine Farooq and Farah Rasheed in the exciting match that enthralled the audience.
Pakistan leads Pool- B with 10 points in the mega event and will now face Japan in the semifinal on Thursday, 3rd July.
Chairman, Pakistan Netball Federation, Mudassar Arian, President, Sameen Malik, Secretary General, Muhammad Riaz congratulated Pakistan girls netball team for their tremendous performance against Maldives.
According to new rules devised by Netball Asia, the semifinals will be played between 1st versus 4th and 2nd versus 3rd teams both divisions group / Pools A & B respectively. Group A called Gold Cup Division and Group B Plate Cup Division.
Eleven teams are participating in the championship and divided into two groups;
Group-A; Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and India.
Group-B; Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Maldives and Saudi Arabia
The Asian Youth Netball Championship 2025 is being played from June 27 to July 4, 2025, under the auspices of Asian Netball Federation.
