The Indian and English cricket teams will go head-to-head in the second Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham from Wednesday (July 2), with the hosts leading the series 1-0 and the visitors aiming to make a comeback.
England completed their second-highest run-chase in history to seal victory in the series opener at Leeds last year by a five-wicket margin. The Ben Stokes-led team chased down a total of 371 in the first of the five-match series.
India could be without star pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the clash as a decision has not yet been Mannounced on whether he will play the game. Bumrah took a five-wicket haul in the match but will play only three matches in the series due to workload management issues.
India are likely to make major changes in their line-up, with some also estimating there could be four changes. Shubman Gill and assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate have given a strong hint that India will play two spinners. While many have called for Kuldeep Yadav to play but the team could pick Washington Sundar to add some batting depth.
England have announced an unchanged playing XI.
