Corbin Bosch Creates History
Bosch has made a remarkable start to his Test career aand after playing two games, he has 217 runs in four innings with an average of 108.50 and 10 wickets at an average of 19.10. He made his debut against Pakistan last year at Centurion in where he took a four-wicket haul and scored 81 runs. However, he was dismissed for a duck in the second innings and took one wicket.
Bosch has become the first player in Test cricket history to take four or more wickets in an innings and score a knock of 80 or more runs in each of his first two Test. Bosch was only the second player to achieve the feat on Test debut after Bruce Taylor of New Zealand, who took a five-wicket haul (5-86) against India and a knock of 105 against India at Kolkata's Eden Gardens in 1965. Taylor also took a five-wicket haul in the second Test of his career at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium (5-26, 3-76) but made knocks of just 8 and 21.
Taylor is also the only player in history to complete the rare double of a five-wicket haul and century on Test debut. Bosch is the joint-second quickest to achieve the feat alongside Jack Gregory, Roston Chase, and Brian Bennett. Among pace bowlers, Bosch is the first in 60 year to complete the milestone after Taylor.
