India are all set to play England in the second Test of the five-match series at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham. Shubman Gill and his men are coming off a disappointing loss in the first Test at Headingley, where India became the first team in history to face defeat after scoring five individual centuries. Now, it has come to light that India are ready to make massive changes to their playing XI, mostly in their bowling department. Despite these changes, Kuldeep Yadav is unlikely to find a spot once again.
According to a report by RevSportz, India are likely to make four big changes in the second Test vs India. Jasprit Bumrah is all set to miss the game due to workload management issues. In his place, India are set to play right-arm pacer Akash Deep. He has been bowling well in the nets, according to the report, and can trouble England with his swing.
Assistant Coach Ryan ten Doeschate hinted in the press conference on June 30 that India are likely playing two spinners in the second Test. The Revsportz report said that apart from Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar is expected to be the second spinner. He was also batting well in the nets. Sundar might be picked in place of Shardul Thakur, who underwhelmed with both bat and ball.
Arshdeep Singh To Debut; Karun Nair Or Sai Sudharsan To Be Dropped
Prasidh Krishna might also be dropped from the second Test, after his expensive outing in the first Test. In his place, India might play Arshdeep Singh. The 26-year-old left-arm pacer will then make his debut for the Indian Test team.
One of Karun Nair or Sai Sudharsan might also be dropped from the playing XI. In that place, Nitish Kumar Reddy will make his way into the side.
