The incident left everyone at the ground stunned. Holder went for a referral, but the umpire declared Jahangir of Seattle Orcas not out. The incident happened at a crucial juncture of the match. After Holder dismissed opener Josh Brown for a two-ball duck, the Orcas bounced back through a steady and valuable partnership between Jahangir (43 off 31 balls) and Aaron Jones (73 off 38 balls). The duo shared a 119-run stand for the second wicket while chasing 203 set by the LA Knight Riders.

After Jahangir was dismissed by Tanveer Sangha, Shimron Hetmyer smashed 64 off 26 balls, including four fours and six sixes. He played the match-winning knock just 24 hours after finishing off a last-ball thriller against MI New York. Although Holder took the wicket of Jones, it was never enough for the LA Knight Riders to make a comeback.
