Virat has missed very few games due to fitness issues in his career. There is one Indian player who never missed a game due to a fitness issue. He also led India and played a key role in the team's success.
The player is none other than Kapil Dev. Known as the Haryana Hurricane, Kapil was the first genuine fast bowler to represent India. The right-arm bowler was the quickest Indian pacer of his time.
Apart from bowling fast, he also made vital contributions with the bat. And Kapil was one of the best fielders of his generation. Despite contributing in all departments of the game, Kapil never had fitness issues in Test cricket.
The former India captain played 131 Tests. He was dropped after the 65th Test for playing a rash shot against England. India lost that game. He was famously dropped for the third Test in Kolkata.
Kapil's dropping led to a protest among the fans and they put up a famous banner which read: "No Kapil, no Test." Mohammad Azharrudin made his debut in that Test and kicked off his career with 3 back-to-back tons.
Kapil made his return for the fourth Test, which India lost. He played knocks of 53 and 49 across two innings and scalped 2 wickets. Kapil played 66 Tests on the trot after getting dropped.
