However, reports have suggested that India will be dealt with a huge blow, as Jasprit Bumrah will not be playing the match owing to workload management issues.
According to a report by NDTV, Jasprit Bumrah is most likely to be replaced in the playing XI in the second Test by Arshdeep Singh. If he does feature, Arshdeep will be making his first appearance in Test Cricket. He is already a mainstay in India's T20I team, becoming the country's all-time highest wicket-taker in the format with 99 scalps. He has also made inroads in the ODI team, and now fans would be eager to see how he performs in the longest format of the game.
Shardul Thakur To Be Dropped
Shardul Thakur, who was disappointing with both bat and ball in the first Test, is also likely to be dropped, according to the NDTV report. He is likely to be replaced by Nitish Kumar Reddy in the lineup.
Shardul was selected to extend India's batting order to no.8. However, he could only score 1 and 4 in both innings. He also managed to take only two wickets in the match.
