India suffered a defeat in the first Test of the five-match series against England by a margin of 5 wickets and are now trailing by a margin of 0-1. They would now to ensure a positive result in the next Test, that begins from July 2 (Wednesday) at the historci Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham. However, Shubman Gill and his team will be extremely worried after England have announced their 15-man squad for the match. While most of the squad from the 1st Test remains, the big addition would be Jofra Archer.
One of the most feared pacers in modern day cricket, Jofra Archer marks his return to Test Cricket after more than four years as England announced their squad. His last appearance in whites for England was back in February 2021 in a match against India in Ahmedabad. Overall, Archer has played 13 Tests, and has for the most part of his career been sidelined with injuries. His return will definitely boss England's pace attack, who did not look at their best in the first Test.
Jofra Archer returned to first-class cricket last week when he played for Sussex against Warwickshire in the County Championship. he bowled 18 overs and picked up 1 wicket for 32 runs.
