India are currently taking on England in the first Test of the five-match series at the Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds. Harry Brook was one of the players that England would have been looking forward to as they aim to chase down 371 to win the game. This is especially true since he slammed a 99 in their first innings. However, his stay at the crease was pretty short. Brook has now managed to achieve a feat, that no other batter in history has managed to do as he went out for a duck on Day 5.
Harry Brook scored 99 in the first innings, falling just short of what could have been a brilliant 100. In the second innings, he was dismissed for a duck in the first ball, as he edged a ball from Shardul Thakur that was going way past the leg side straight into the hands of wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.
Brook now becomes the first player in history to hit 99 in the first innings and then get out for a golden duck in the second innings of a Test match. He is the second batter to hit a golden duck and 99 in the same Test. South Africa's Andrew Hall hit 0 in the first innings and 99 in a 2003 Test match vs England.
